Little Busy Bodies Preschool
Newsletter
December 12th & 14th
Dear Preschool Parents,
What a great party we had today to end the first half of our school year together! I love a good party and I hope your child enjoyed himself as well. I have truly loved my time as your child’s preschool teacher so far.

On Monday we read “The Gingerbread Boy,” by Paul Galdone. The children were quite mesmerized as I read this classic tale, anticipating each scene up until the last snip snap snip when the Gingerbread Boy goes ‘the way of every single gingerbread boy that ever came out of an oven.” I wish you could have seen their little faces! After reading this story, I did the most predictable extension activity. The funny thing is that the children never see it coming. I told them I had baked some gingerbread cookies for them to eat, and they were finishing up in the oven. As we went into the kitchen to take them out, what did we find?? That’s right, the cookies were gone! As predictable as it is, the kids play right into it every year…and have a blast following the clues left by the missing gingerbread cookies! Once we found our cookies, we decorated them, and gobbled them up!

Today we had our Night Before Christmas Pajama Party. The children all looked so adorable in their jammies. We watched Frosty the Snowman and ate waffles with sausages and pineapple. After that, we read “The Night Before Christmas,” by Clement Clarke Moore. We all know this timeless classic! After reading this book, we made a cute Santa Claus craft. Then the children hid their books around the room and we had our book exchange. THANK YOU for all of the wonderful books that were donated! We finished up with a quick game of Pin the Nose on Rudolph!
